Formado em cinema pela Université Lumière Lyon II na França, Daniel Leite é  Diretor  de Fotografia e atua nos segmentos: Cinema, Televisão e Publicidade.

Na ficção Daniel Leite dirigiu a fotografia dos longas metragens "Lima Barreto Ao Terceiro Dia" (Globo filmes) e "O Rj de Ho Chi Minh" - filmado no Vietnam -  (Pipa distribuidora) e a série de ficção "Cinema de Enredo", "Tudo Novo de Novo", "Aline", "Relógio da Aventura" (Globo) - assim como diversos curtas metragens dentre eles o curta "Bodas", exibido em Cannes na edição de 2016.

No gênero Documentário Daniel Leite é o Autor, Diretor e Diretor de Fotografia do longa metragem "Kabadio, o tempo não tem pressa, anda descalço" - Rodado no sul do Senegal - que ganhou o prêmio de Best Cinematography no Festival Internacional Heritales em Lisboa - Portugal - e foi selecionado em mais de trinta festivais em todo mundo; Festival do Rio 2016, AFFRIF - Nigéria, EFF BRICS - Rússia 2016, Cine Cipó 2017 - Brasil, Cine Mis 2018 - Brasil , Black Star Film Festival - Gana, Sofia Biting Docs - Bulgária, Social Machinery - Italia... 

Daniel foi o Diretor de externas e Diretor de Fotografia da série: "Expedição Oriente" - Família Schurmann - Uruguai, Argentina, Chile e Antártica - (Fantástico e Nat Geo). Foi o Autor, Diretor e Diretor de Fotografia da série esportiva "Surfe no Oeste da África" (Canal Off) e dirigiu a fotografia do documentário "Vidas Embarcadas" filmado na Antártica a bordo do navio antártico brasileiro H44. 

Engajado no cinema negro nacional trabalhou muitas vezes no continente africano: Senegal, Gambia, Cabo Verde, Tunisia, Moçambique, Namíbia e Tanzania. Daniel dirigiu a Fotografia do documentário "Falas Negras" (Globo) - este cineasta desenvolve o projeto "Mais Passado que Futuro" de filme e livro de cunho humanitário para o vilarejo de Kabadio- Sul do Senegal. 

Mais recentemente dirigiu a fotografia de duas temporadas da série de ficção "Matches" para Warner dirigiu a fotografia da terceira temporada do programa de grande sucesso nacional:  "Avisa lá que eu vou" (Fantástico / GNT) e prepara a série de ficção "Pablo e Luizão" para o canal Globo.
